When Should I Open My Pool?

Most people in our area want their pool up and running for Memorial Day, if not the 4th of July. But what many people do not realize is that it is actually better to open your pool EARLIER in the season.

Opening early gets the pool water chemically balanced and flowing, rather than stagnant during those first few warm weeks of Spring. Stagnant water and warm weather can promote algae growth which will require more chemicals to get it clean. It will also take more time (and service visits!)

Pools can be opened as early as the end of March or in the early weeks of April. You need not turn on your pool heater until you start swimming, but getting the water balanced and the filters running can help ensure that the pool will be ready to go when you are!

Call now to get on our schedule – or put a note on your calendar to remind you to schedule an early opening when we come to close your pool in the fall!
